WebDec 8, 2024 · Currently using a GTX1070, and came across a new 27” HP Omen 165hz gsync monitor on clearance last yr for only $89, so naturally couldn’t pass that up! Unfortunately it means any future AMD card won’t be an upgrade option for awhile if it can’t do plain ole free sync as I’d have to replace that too unless I want to be stuck at 60hz. WebG-Sync uses its own protocol and Nvidia hasn't opened it for others to use. If it's G-Sync compatible, then it's either using 'standard' VRR or a Freesync variant with some Nvidia marketing money behind it.
